A Guide to Correct Dunnage Bag Usage

Follow these steps to ensure your cargo is secured safely and effectively.

How to Select the Right Dunnage Bag

To choose the correct bag size, you must measure three key areas:

  • The gap between your cargo (goods).
  • The height of the pallets or cargo.
  • The depth of the pallets (this determines how far back the bag will sit).

Proper Bag Positioning

Correct placement is essential to prevent bag damage and ensure stability.

  • Place the bag in the gap between the cargo items.
  • Do not let the bag touch the floor. There must be a minimum clearance of 3 cm (1.2 inches) from the ground.
  • The bag must not extend beyond the top or sides of the load.

Inflating the Bag

  1. Use your inflator tool to begin filling the bag with air.
  2. Important: Monitor the air pressure closely as you inflate.
  3. Do not exceed the specified maximum working pressure for your bag type.
  4. Once the correct pressure is reached, remove the inflator tool from the valve.
